Anoe-ism part 2

The day before yesterday Anoe and I were walking down the hall to get something out of the kitchen before we left for school/work. She kept coughing/clearing her throat/sounding disgusting! Me being the comedian that I am, I asked her if she had been smoking. She just looked at me like I was a complete idiot. (I actually get this look a lot from Alexis) I said "You know, you keep coughing and clearing your throat. So you sound like a smoker in the mornings." Still with that same look, she said so matter-of-factly "No I don't smoke. Oma would kick me in my throat if I ever did. And I need my throat to talk!" Then she just walked off shaking her head. I told her I was just kidding, but she didn't get the joke.

*Disclaimer: My Mom is always saying she'll kick someone or something in their throat. She has never really done such a thing to either of my children.

Anniversary

I really should of blogged about this yesterday, but I was too excited about finding out that I am for sure moving soon! So anyways, yesterday was my two year anniversary at my work! My boss left town early Thursday morning, so we had to celebrate Wednesday. Instead of having a delicious chocolate cake, we had La Popular burritos. I'm sure they're just as fattening, but I didn't have to feel quite as guilty for eating one.

As with any new job, when I first started I was always so confused. It seemed like I was having to call the other JP Clerk constantly to ask questions. But now, two years later, I have a clerk calling me to ask questions! And so far, I've been able to answer all of questions correctly. That is so cool.

The Big News

OK, so in my last post I said I had some big news to tell everyone. Well, I found out today that I am for sure moving to Clyde within the next month! I'm super excited as well as scared. I'll be saving so much in gas it's ridiculous! And I'll be able to sleep in a little bit in the mornings too. The house is in a pretty good neighborhood, with lots of kids nearby that my kids already know from school. Actually, my assistant troop leader from Girl Scouts lives right behind the house I'm moving into. So that's really cool. It's a 3 bedroom, 2 bath and has a separate area for the laundry room. Well, it's connected to the kitchen, but it's separated at the same time. It's hard to explain, but it's super awesome. My lease starts on October 15th, but the landlord said I could move in as soon as he gets everything from the previous person all cleaned up. I talked to my brother about making me 2 bookcases to hold all my DVD's and he said he would do it. All I have to pay for is the actual material. Today on abilenefreecycle, a man that lives out in Sylvester (small town like 40 miles north of Abilene) was giving away an electric dryer. I talked to him and my mom is going out to Sylvester to get it for me tonight!

Everything is coming together so smoothly! It's almost crazy how smoothly everything is working out. I can't wait to cook my first meal in my new home!!! I'll post pictures of it as soon I I get the keys. Maybe if I'm really on top of my game, I'll post before and after photos.

Anoe-isms

Today after school Anoe and Kalista were at my office talking to me. Kalista told me that when she grows up she wants to move to India. I just kind of looked at her weird and said no way! She just giggled and said (all shy like) "I like elephants". So Anoe said that when she grows up she wants to be Mexican. I looked at her with an even crazier look, and said "You already are Mexican", so she said "No, I want to live somewhere Mexican." Shaking my head, I asked her if she meant she wanted to live in Mexico. She just shrugged her shoulders and said "yeah". This little girl is so funny sometimes. I really need to write down all the crazy stuff she does and blog about it more often.

Coming up soon is an update! A lot has happened since I last blogged. Mostly good! Well, actually all of it so good that I can think of. Hopefully I won't be so busy at work tomorrow and I'll have time to actually blog!! :)
